What is the method in photography where you take multiple shots on a tripod and vary the DOF, focus and blend?

and you blend all the photos together on the computer to make one picture. I think its called "high..." it seems to be commonly used for landscapes/cityscapes. the name escaped me and its driving me nuts. thanks.
