Will my boyfriend forgive me for something I said?

I was upset because he didn't end up calling me after we had spoken on the phone earlier in the day and he even texted me in the evening saying he was going to call but it was time for me to go to bed and he still hadn't so I got mad. He said he had fallen asleep. I told him how I wanted someone who was responsible, reliable, and dependable and will call when they say they will and follow through with what they say. He took it personally-I said the things I wanted- I didn't mean for him to take it to heart and I apologized but he said he couldn't forget what I told him and had never been so insulted. (He has a bad record with relatioships and has had quite a few so what I sent him somehow tied every relationship he has been in-I don't know what he meant by that). It was a text message! Anyways he said he didn't feel the same way about me because of the text and that I made a big deal of stuff so I just broke it off.
