Anyone else think Gilmore Girls was a lousy TV show?

My wife loves it and I just dont get the appeal. The dialougue is overdone and the characters are unlikable. Her parents are snobbish aholes and the show as a whole is dull. Yet my wife owns all the seasons on DVD.
