How do pawn shops work, exactly?

I have a Fender Strat Pack (Guitar and mini-amp) and a Keyboard (not sure of the brand), and I was going to take them to the pawn shop. The guitar has stickers on it (I was young and stupid) but everything else is in good condition. Will they take all of these items? Do you get the money for them the same day?
